FESTICORTOS is an audiovisual show performed by boys, girls, and teenagers in education centres.

FESTICORTOS (Short Films Festival) is an audiovisual show performed by boys, girls, and teenagers in education centres. These shows started in 2008 and have continued to take place yearly in Cordoba, Argentina.

Diversity is the principal characteristic demonstrated since the first festival, which ranges from the difference in ages, students’ social contexts, their levels, methods and types of paperwork from the original institutions, as for the focus set in the productions, without forgetting the multiplicity of genders and messages that are shown in audiovisual format. The richness of the work that is presented each year is linked, also, with the local, provincial, national and international scenery from where they are sent. The development of each audiovisual project implies work in the script, the previous gender, the acting, the photography, the wardrobe and the edition.  Everything revolves around a developed theme. Nevertheless, there is a common concept present in all productions: the identity of the producers.

The project proposes to set up a space that transcends the limits of the classroom and the school. An inter-institutional encounter to share different works that integrate a diverse set of curricular disciplines, interests and genders, creating critical users of multiple means of communication through the active participation, as producers and as spectators of audiovisual productions. Additionally, it will be used to favour the social inclusion of boys, girls, and teenagers in cultural spaces that generate a space where audiovisual productions can take place in the equality of conditions.

Next, we will be presenting a selection of short films “without words” that do not need voice-recording nor subtitles.
